Our highly-experienced development team – seen here in discussions with members of the public at our Community Day last May – are well-versed in the need to listen carefully to what people have to say and to use the constructive feedback received to inform the design as it evolves.

THE NEXT STEPS

Having acquired the Mitchell’s brewery site, British Land has taken steps to ensure that the listed malthouse and brewery tower were made safe.

We liaised closely with English Heritage and Lancaster City Council on this and have undertaken repairs to preserve these buildings.

Once our development team has reviewed the previous scheme, consulted with English Heritage, key stakeholders and both the city and county councils, they will work up our initial proposals for the development. We will then publish those plans and undertake comprehensive consultation with the public and local interest groups before preparing a planning application.

As our plans progress, we will endeavour to provide as much information as possible via this website.
